Betty Balm is Riverwood Apothecary's signature lip balm. It is available in two formulas- Beeswax and Vegan. Both contain the same ingredients except for one ingredient- the wax. Both formulas have been created to provide a very similar product, so it really comes down to personal preference.
Beeswax Betty Balm uses beeswax, of course. Beeswax is a pretty common standard in lip balm, as it provides a natural alternative to artificial waxes. Beeswax is a little bit stickier, or tackier, than some waxes, and has a slightly more matte finish. Vegan Betty Balm uses Candelilla Wax, a plant-based wax, to provide the same skin-loving benefits to your lip balm, without the use of any animal products or by-products. Candelilla wax performs very similarly to other waxes, but provides just a hint more shine and is a bit more solid than beeswax.
Betty Balm contains three natural butters and 6 natural oils to provide your lips with plenty of moisture and protection. Each ingredient was carefully selected to provide Betty Balm with real benefits for your lips and skin, as well as a good feeling on the lips. Betty Balm is long-lasting, and won't need to be reapplied every 5 minutes, without creating a heavy, glue-like feeling on your lips. However, it does contain oils that are fast absorbing, so that you start to feel the benefits right away- perfect for relieving and protecting those chapped lips.
